For five years, Polish Gas and Oil Company will be the sole user of the small-scale LNG receiving and transhipment station in Klaipeda. For PGNiG, this is an important step in building competence and position on this market in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic Sea basin. The contract with Klaipedos Nafta will be in force starting April 2020.
The pickup and transhipment station is located about 7 km from the floating regasification terminal Independence in Klaipeda. Two stations for tank road loading and five warehouses with a total capacity of 5000 cubic meters were installed at the station. The maximum loading rate is 100 cubic meters of LNG per hour, which allows to load one tanker in about 30 minutes. The installation in Klaipeda also allows loading ISO-containers and bunkering LNG-powered ships.
Gas-Trading S.A. operating on the LNG logistics market, will ensure LNG gas transport from the Klaipeda Terminal to end customers. Having a fleet of modern cryogenic tanks, equipped with cryogenic pumps and flowmeters, the Company has the ability to supply both large collection points and smaller, which do not require delivery of entire tanks.
